Check Structure
Overview
Precon’s Check structure controls water levels and velocity while measuring the flow, specifically when there is no change in elevation. Structures are multi-piece (typically 9-13) and assembled on-site in the shape of an ‘H’, perpendicular to the flow of water, which creates a double wall water cut-off, preventing bank erosion and seepage.
The structure is engineered and designed to USBR standards and works well in conjunction with the Inlet/Turnout to obtain necessary water levels for water delivery. The structure can handle water flow up to 3.5 m3/sec and can accommodate canal slopes of 2:1, 2.5:1 and 3:1. Precon’s Check structure can be upgraded with many popular gate systems, such as overshot and stop log systems.
