An outlet-style structure, with an engineered basin and headwall that are designed to dissipate energy, as water is introduced into a drainage system or natural water course.
Precon’s Impact Baffle structure is an outlet-style structure, with an engineered basin and headwall that are designed to dissipate energy, as water is introduced into a drainage system or natural water course. The dissipation of energy is controlled by a baffle wall that is cast into the structure and can handle flows up to 5.6 cubic metres per second. The attached headwall is designed to anchor the structure in place and also acts as a seepage barrier.
The Impact Baffle is easy to handle and install. It is designed to USBR standards and Precon can accommodate many different flanges or pipes, which can be cast directly into the structure. A metal grating is also available.
Pipeline terminal structures requiring energy dissipation during normal or event type flow situations
Precon’s Impact Baffle Structures are produced in five standard sizes to accommodate flows between 0.4 cubic metres per second to 5.6 cubic metres per second and pipe sizes up to 1350mm diameter.
There are many options that can be added to or cast into many Precon products
